My pc has been crashing during gaming.

I've had this laptop for a while now, my laptop is also approx 4 years old, idk if this may be the cause of my problems. Most games I play crash and it's related to my GPU.

I've pretty much tried everything except for reading my "Event Viewer" errors. I was wondering if someone could help me read through these errors. This is my error viewer log, I've already filtered error, warning, and critical.

Here is the log file:

If you want to know about my drivers, I've installed newer versions from intel and manufactuer websites, since the asus website for my drivers are 3-4 years old.

Sorry for the delay in reply. I've been offline.

This log file contains errors in the Nvidia driver.

Have you installed all the latest drivers under the Chipset category?

In addition to the Chipset driver, I suggest installing the latest versions of the following drivers:

    • Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Driver
    • Intel Management Engine Components
    • Serial IO

After installing the drivers, restart your PC and see if the games will run stable.

My games still show errors. Here is the error log. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1rGPzoXan9uBLrMJyaXqBcG_YJlRJ2fb2/view?usp=sharing I found that when I don't run my games while my laptop is plugged it, my games don't crash, however I run at a lower FPS and I always need to charge it back up. Could this be indicating something?

If there is no problem, do the factory reset and redo the DDU steps again.

Yes. Install the Chipset driver provided by Asus for your laptop on the link you mentioned.

Hi David, when I open System Restore the only restore point is when I last factory reset the laptop.

This would be before I installed Intel DSA and the recommended drivers, Intel Chipset, DDU installation, and CMD command prompts.

Could I just factory reset again and redo the DDU steps again? ( I don't have anything important on this laptop currently so factory resetting is an easy option).

Also, should I install Chipset presented on https://www.asus.com/us/supportonly/fx505gt/helpdesk_download/

Sorry for the delay in reply. I've been offline.

    Thanks for the details.

The errors appear to be directly related to the GPU.

The drivers you installed directly from Intel may not have been a good idea either. For these drivers, it is also recommended to stick to the latest version provided by the laptop manufacturer.

I know this can be frustrating. However, laptops are limited in this regard.

I think it's a good idea to use the System Restore feature to get your computer to a point where your games were working properly.

    Instructions below:

    1. Press "Windows + R", type RStrui and press Enter;
    2. In the "Restore System Files and Settings" window, select "Next".

Note: If on this screen you have two options to choose from ("Recommended restore" and "Choose a different restore point"), see if the "Recommended restore" is before the problem started to occur. If so, select "Search affected programs" and proceed as in step 4. Or select "Choose a different restore point" to see the list of available restore points and proceed to Step 3.

    1. Select the restore point you want to use from the list of results, then select "Search affected programs".

Note: If you don't see the restore point you want, check "Show more restore points".

    1. You will see a list of items that will be deleted if this restore point is performed. If you are satisfied with the exclusions, select Close > Next > Finish.

Then, wait for the procedure to finish. Your computer will restart.

Note: System Restore does not affect your documents, images, or other personal data.
