My computer will not download the latest windows update.

In my settings it says that the 2024-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5040442) and the 2024-07 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 23H2 for x64 (KB5039895) is ready to be downloaded and installed but as I proceed with the update it keeps saying there was an error and the update will not install. I have tried restarting my PC and looking in my bios to find a problem but my troubleshooting has not worked.

    You told me to delete the contents of C:$WINDOWS.~BT so there's nothing in there now

    MCT is supposed to create a new log, but it looks like it exited very early.

    Or, try the English (US) ISO and see if the Keep my files option is enabled.

    Couldn't I just start at this download link instead? Oh yeah, no, cos it doesn't include English (United Kingdom) as an option either

    So why not just include all the basic system options in the download options? Amateurish.

    For English (UK), you choose English (International) ISO. However, it appears that that ISO is not suitable for your system that's why the Keep files option is grayed out.

    Try English (United States) ISO and see if the Keep Files option is enabled.

    Please repair Windows 11 using the built-in "Reinstall now" option in Settings.
