My computer will not download the latest windows update.

In my settings it says that the 2024-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5040442) and the 2024-07 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 23H2 for x64 (KB5039895) is ready to be downloaded and installed but as I proceed with the update it keeps saying there was an error and the update will not install. I have tried restarting my PC and looking in my bios to find a problem but my troubleshooting has not worked.

    Press Win + R to open the Run dialog.

    Type "C:$WINDOWS.~BT"

    Click OK.

    In the "C:$WINDOWS.~BT" folder, select all the files and subfolders, and delete them.

    If you can't delete them, try from Safe mode.

    Deleted them, but still get this when trying to run the MCT exe

    Please share the following setup log file on OneDrive (or any other host) and post the link here:

    C:$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Panther\setupact.log

    Note: The "C:$WINDOWS.~BT" folder is a hidden folder. To access the folder, press Win + R, type "C:$WINDOWS.~BT" and click OK.

    (or)

    If you don't want to troubleshoot this, you can do a Reset (with the "Keep My Files" option). Your apps and settings will be lost, though.

    Hi, one update was able to process but this update is still not working: 2024-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5040442) the error code is 0x80248007. Not quite sure why it won't download.

    I have exactly the same problem... Also the same error code. Can someone help me? Another Problem i have are bluescreens.

    You told me to delete the contents of C:$WINDOWS.~BT so there's nothing in there now
