Windows update failed (Install error 0x800703f1)

So ive had this problem for a long time now.. Windows update will not install and my firewall will not turn on (grayed out). I did a scan in the CMD and it says there is missing or corrupted files. I tried to do a ton of fixes on it an nothing is working. Also my firewall says "update your firewall settings but when i try to click on the use recommended setting its shoots me another error code (0x8007045b). I have a feeling that those 2 problems are connected can anyone help me?

Note: Ive also tried these in the powershell but that didnt work either.

net stop wuauserv

Ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old

net start cryptSvc
net start bits
net start msiserver

It seems that the original error is fixed! I still get told there's 127 corruptions, 131 inconsistencies, and 131 warnings when I run the component scanner...and now windows update gives me a different error. But I got a few things installed anyhow. I'll be looking into how to do a repair installation tomorrow (I've not had the time today due to family obligations)

Thank you for all your help!

    Hi,

May I know what the new error is?

By the way, here's how to repair install Windows 10.

    1. Download Windows 10 Media Creation Tool (MCT) from this link:

    https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=2265055

    1. Run MCT and accept the license agreement.
    2. Click "Upgrade this PC now". This starts the repair installation.

Your apps, settings, and files will be kept by default during a repair install/in-place upgrade.

    Hi Lirilei,

I'm having the same issue, and have been for awhile.

Following what everyone has has been told to do I get:

Components > ERROR: The configuration registry database is corrupt.

Drivers > The operation completed successfully.

So here is my components: Components Zip

    Thank you for any help!

Please download ComponentsScanner 64-bit and run it. Allow it to repair the hive when prompted.

    Hi Ramesh,

Have the same issue with drivers.
    C:\Windows\system32>reg load HKLM\DRIVERS c:\windows\system32\config\drivers

ERROR: The configuration registry database is corrupt.

    DRIVERS.zip

Can you please check, what is wrong there?

    Thanks

    Hi Atvars,

Please download DRIVERS (Atvars Sefanovskis).zip. Unzip and extract it to desktop. Copy it to c:\windows\system32\config\drivers
