Trying to boot from a usb stick In win 10 I get the message "Verifying shim SBAT data failed: Security Policy ViolationSomething has gone seriously wrong: SBAT self-check failed: Security Policy Violation" Can someone help me resolve it? Is this from the latest windows update?

This seems to have started right after a win update but I'm not sure if it's a coincident or not. Thanks for any help

    I'm dual-booted with Linux Mint, and I had the SBAT error for the first time this morning. I thought the computer was dead. Here is how I get it working with Windows 10:

    To get my HP Elitebook to work with Win10 I had to hit the ESC key to enter the Startup Menu, then Boot Menu, then UEFI Windows Boot Manager & I'm in Windows.

    Here is what worked with my HP Elitebook:

    To get my HP Elitebook to work with Win10 I had to hit the ESC key to enter the Startup Menu, then Boot Menu, then UEFI Windows Boot Manager & I'm in Windows.

    I have an HP Elitebook, and the following instructions did not work for me. If you know another way to disable safe boot I'd like to know the procedure.

    These did NOT work for me: Find the Secure Boot setting in your BIOS menu. If possible, set it to Disabled. This option is usually in either the Security tab, the Boot tab, or the Authentication tab.

    My bios settings is locked and i don't know the password. How can i turn off the secure boot or is there another way to fix that issue.
