Trying to boot from a usb stick In win 10 I get the message "Verifying shim SBAT data failed: Security Policy ViolationSomething has gone seriously wrong: SBAT self-check failed: Security Policy Violation" Can someone help me resolve it? Is this from the latest windows update?

This seems to have started right after a win update but I'm not sure if it's a coincident or not. Thanks for any help

    Here is what worked with my HP Elitebook:

    To get my HP Elitebook to work with Win10 I had to hit the ESC key to enter the Startup Menu, then Boot Menu, then UEFI Windows Boot Manager & I'm in Windows.

    I'm dual-booted with Linux Mint, and I had the SBAT error for the first time this morning. I thought the computer was dead. Here is how I get it working with Windows 10:

    To get my HP Elitebook to work with Win10 I had to hit the ESC key to enter the Startup Menu, then Boot Menu, then UEFI Windows Boot Manager & I'm in Windows.

    Hi Valeria,

    I have the same issue. My pc doesn't even start. It comes on screen the sentences:

    -Sbat check errors

    • and Sbat self-check error security policy violation

    Have you resolved the problem? If yes, could U say to me how?

    My laptop won’t let me change secure boot.

    The error message appeared when I tried to boot from a (Ubuntu) USB stick.

    I can boot into Windows 11 with no problems.
