Windows 11 deactivated after 24h2 update

We have the same issue. After update to 24H2 devices that were activated using KMS are changing editions from Pro to Enterprise and therefor can not activate anymore. We can reactivate the devices using a MAK key but we still can not figure out how to stop each device to change edition to Enterprise after the update to 24H2.

I read here Window 11 24H2 / Can't Join Domain - Microsoft Community that people have issues with joining devices to Domain, so I was thinking maybe it can not connect to AD after update and therefor somehow messes up the Edition/License, but if we create a brand new ISO image with 24H2, the computer joins the AD and activates, so I am not sure if these issues are related.

If anyone has some solution, please let me know.

I spent hours trying to find what the problem was. Also in contact with a Microsoft helpdesk person which I could not understand because the strong Indian accent.

The strangest thing was that all evidence of any past licence on my PC was missing.

What did do the trick.:

I just bought a licence on line which was only about $10 US. It is legal and it worked. Then to think that Microsoft charges hundreds of dollars for the same thing.

Workaround:

Reveal licenskey on local pc:

search powershell

run as Administrator

powershell "(Get-WmiObject -query ‘select * from SoftwareLicensingService’).OA3xOriginalProductKey"

Reactivated windows with this key, work for me.
