Windows 11 deactivated after 24h2 update

I updated my computer today to 24H2 and after it rebooted it requested me to activate my copy of Windows Home. I attempted to using the key that I have but it says that it can't.

I have inserted a screenshot below. If you need any further information please let me know.

    I submitted feedback via "Feedback Hub", maybe if more people do the same it will get their attention. If you do end up writing feedback, make sure to relate it to my submission, it should be similarly titled to this post. I also wonder if we should just make a new thread.

    Had exactly the same issue with 10 Pro OEM licences that had been happily uplifted to Windows 11. On applying 24H2 they were complaining about not being activated and the "Enter Key" and "Troubleshoot" buttons in the licencing section did nothing. Resolution:

    Admin Command prompt

    • slmgr /ipk AAAAA-BBBBB-CCCCC-DDDDD-EEEEE {The Key from the sticker}
    • (Should get a message box saying import successful)
    • slmgr /ato
    • (Message box saying activated successfully)

    Right faff, but scriptable so not the end of the world. Not sure what's gone on with 24H2 but it feels like a bit of a train wreck all round....

    The issue for me (and others) is I don't have any key to use. Windows was pre-loaded on my SDD when I ordered the build kit.

    That might be a problem for you. When investigating and using slmgr /dlv I noticed that the partial product key had no resemblance to the key that had previously been installed and activated prior to 24H2. No expert here, but istr that for pre-installed systems the key is stored in the ACPI. There might be a tool to extract it from there somewhere out on the internets?

    Just had this same issue today. on my pre SI machine. sucks that they, MS, are still pushing this patch out, with this persistent issue.

    anyway, I found my key in the box of ownership materials falcon includes with a purchase, used this cmd line, fixed.
