Mouse Cursor Size Issue on Windows 11 (v24H2) - HP Spectre x360

Hello everyone, I am experiencing a strange issue with my Windows 11 (version 24H2) laptop. Every time I boot up my HP Spectre x360 16-inch 2-in-1 laptop, the mouse cursor appears significantly larger than normal.

I found that resetting the graphics card temporarily resolves the issue, but the problem reoccurs with each reboot. changing the screen resolution also fixed it, any solution? My laptop is equipped with Intel Iris Xe Graphics and has 8GB of RAM.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

    Hello,

Has anyone reported this issue to HP? It seems like each party is just passing the problem to someone else. I contacted Intel support 10 days ago, and they claimed the issue lies with HP. This is becoming a really frustrating problem.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

Check this out in HP Community web site, which is same problem :

    https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/Display-scaling-at-200-broken/td-p/9220374

HP can see this and I personaly did call them. If you can check also this conversation from the beginning, you can see that some other people did call them also with no solution.

But I am thinking the problem is due to the compatibility issue between Intel Arc driver and Windows 24H2.

Intel, Windows and HP have to comunicate together to solve this problem, in order to release a new update; can be for new graphic driver or new Microsoft update.

Wishing you alla a great 2025!

Unfortunately I have not found a solution. Today I had a chat with Microsoft support, but I can't say it was very helpful. Here you can se the conversation. The advice given was to continue report it in the Feedback hub. After I pushed a little I got a phone number I could try to call +18664259799, But to reach them I have to upgrade my phoneplan to be able to call to USA and I am in Europe, so I guess I am going to continue to report through the feedback hub for a bit longer...

    Hello,

I am located in Turkey, I did call Microsoft Turkey and did inform the issue twice. On the other hand I did contact also INTEL, they did request from me a lot of things and I am not so professional with software so much. I hope they are are working to solve this issue. On the other hand I believe that INTEL, Microsoft and HP should come together to solve this problem. Here with the last information and request from INTEL. But I believe even if I could do these steps it will not solve the problem :

    HelloHBegaki,

    Good day!

We tried to replicate the issue, but the replication was unsuccessful, and there might be a possibility of some settings corruption inside of OS after upgrade.

I've checked the community links, and everybody are trying to do something with scaling, which doesn't have any other options apart from setting value. So, we can check possible fix something in OS and then install fresh drivers.

    1) Make sure that all default Windows updates are installed.

    2) Download latest Intel graphics drivers. Intel released new driver with version Intel® Graphics Driver32.0.101.6449/32.0.101.101.6256(1/2/2025).

    3) Download latestDDU(and extract to be used).

    4) Open Terminal or Command line as administrator and enter each command separately (wait till finish):

    • DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup
    • Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
    • SFC /ScanNow
    • Copy entire command line output after last command to a text file if there will be any errors.

    5) Reboot PC to safe mode and run DDU.

    6) Boot to Windows normal operating mode.

    7) Install Intel drivers (don't select clean install).

    8.) Test current configuration.

If the issue persists, I am to proceed with further investigation of the issue you've reported, and I truly understand you are uncomfortable generating the SSU log file. However, this will help us check your system configuration and firmware/drivers installed that is needed for further checking. This way we can, check further for any possible coordination with OEMs (MSFT and HP).

The application is very easy to use, as you can check theHelp Guide for the Intel® System Support Utility. Download theIntel® System Support Utility for Windows* software. When the download is complete, launch SSU.exe.

    • Scan: Check the box Everything.
    • Click Scan.
    • Review: When finished scanning, click Next.
    • Click Save (.txt). Attach the SSU log file (.txt) as you reply to this post.

    As per your question:

Why Hp support Assistant shows still the one:32.0.101.5768 Rev.A ?

Based on the screenshot you shared, it is HP driver page, therefore, no matter how much you update, their download page will show what their available latest/newest driver version is, which for this instance is the version 32.0.101.5768 Rev.A.
