I just installed KB5050094 on my Windows 11 HP OmniBook Ultra Flip. the mouse cursor size was properly set and retained after a shutdown - fast startup, But did NOT retain mouse cursor size when doing a shift-shutdown and non-fast, full startup. better but not fully fixed.
For me this issue only happened on shutdown - fast start and not on shift shutdown - start(or restart). So in essense KB5050094 seems to have fixed the issue in my case. It's been over a day now with multiple shutdown - fast starts and haven't had the cursor go nuts since.
Hello,
When you check in Microsoft page for KB5050094, what they did fixed in this update, there is no notification for this issue. Only mouse dissapearing is mentioned, and besides this is also not only mouse curser size issue, this is an issue about scaling, because it can be fixed changing by scale in display settings also, and by start-up the scale setting is also changing when you not disable fast-startup.
Please see below in the link under Highlight (Gradual and Normal rollouts) what fixed .
Is Microsoft even aware of this issue? Did anyone report it on feedback hub? I wouldn't be surprised if it got fixed with something else not entirely directly connected.
I did reinstall windows with different language (KO -> EN) somewhere in between KB5050094 and the previous update, just avoided shutdown - fast starts before KB5050094 so not entirely sure if it was more of the reinstall or the new KB5050094 that resolved my case. I'm just hoping it doesn't come back in a day or two like the last false positive.
