I went through the troubleshooting steps and then gave my number for a call back from MS support. Support basically listened, had me use the recovery option in the system menu to roll back the "upgrade" to 24H2 and then told me to put windows updates on pause for 3-4 weeks. The activation error is gone, and while I usually don't like to roll back, I think it was the best way to handle this rather than facing the distraction of trying to activate windows every day.
Windows 11 OEM licence deactivated after 24h2 update
Hello,
A few days ago I installed the new 24h2 update on my laptop and after rebooting the system, my Windows 11 Home license no longer worked. Every time I went to the Configuration place where the licenses are activated, it would show an error 0xC004F213. Every time I would click on "Solve problems" it would not provide me with any solution.
After 1 day, I tried to enter my license as a new license, by clicking on "Change product key" and pasted my current license. Again, this would not solve the problem and throw me an error. This time the code was 0x803fa067.
Now, I constantly have that error saying that my license is not valid. https://answers-afd.microsoft.com/static/images/image-not-found.jpgI have checked and downgrading to the previous version 23h also seems impossible.
Is there any fix for this or am I going to lose my valid and paid license due to an update bug?

2025-02-03T15:21:27+00:00 Yes. I did this also. And paused updates for 5 weeks. This has been going on since October it seems. Now I just noticed I got 24H2 last week. Then had the Activate Windows watermark issue which is how you know your license is now "ungenuine". No one should have to purchase the cheap keys because MS has a bug in an update.

2025-02-15T14:51:53+00:00 I experienced the same issue. After having 24H2 finally pushed (forced) to me, I receive a watermark notification telling me I had to Activate Windows. System > Activation confirmed my Windows 11 Pro activation state was "Not active." Troubleshoot provided no solution.
I finally was able to speak with someone at Microsoft. They are aware of 24H2 breaking Windows activation, and their solution was to roll back to 23H2 (Settings > System > Recovery > Go Back > Next > No thanks > Next > Next > Go Back to Earlier...) and to NOT UPDATE FOR 5-7 days.
I have to assume the advice not to update for 5-7 days is to give them an opportunity to fix this 24H2 rollout issue so that installing it doesn't break their own OS license.

2025-02-16T05:28:01+00:00 I am having the same issue after updating to 24H2. My Windows 11 Pro (23H2) is activated *not* with a digital license, despite being able to see the device as one of my devices in my online Microsoft account.
I updated to 24H2 tonight, and got the error that Windows is no longer activated. Went through the troubleshooter (didn't work).
I requested a callback, and surprisingly someone called after midnight Eastern! The agent said to rollback to 23H2 and turn off updates for the "next few days" since it appears they are aware of the problem.
No further information was given, but he said if you experience this, roll back to the prior version for now while their engineers work on the problem.
It appears there is some sort of glitch they're aware of, if the support agents are telling you to rollback for now and to pause the updates.

2025-02-17T03:45:11+00:00 So the official fix for 6 months is to role back the update and hope?
So when does this bother getting fixed and how does this effect security updates etc?
