Windows 11 OEM licence deactivated after 24h2 update

Hello,

A few days ago I installed the new 24h2 update on my laptop and after rebooting the system, my Windows 11 Home license no longer worked. Every time I went to the Configuration place where the licenses are activated, it would show an error 0xC004F213. Every time I would click on "Solve problems" it would not provide me with any solution.

After 1 day, I tried to enter my license as a new license, by clicking on "Change product key" and pasted my current license. Again, this would not solve the problem and throw me an error. This time the code was 0x803fa067.

Now, I constantly have that error saying that my license is not valid. https://answers-afd.microsoft.com/static/images/image-not-found.jpgI have checked and downgrading to the previous version 23h also seems impossible.

Is there any fix for this or am I going to lose my valid and paid license due to an update bug?

I am having the same issue after updating to 24H2. My Windows 11 Pro (23H2) is activated *not* with a digital license, despite being able to see the device as one of my devices in my online Microsoft account.

I updated to 24H2 tonight, and got the error that Windows is no longer activated. Went through the troubleshooter (didn't work).

I requested a callback, and surprisingly someone called after midnight Eastern! The agent said to rollback to 23H2 and turn off updates for the "next few days" since it appears they are aware of the problem.

No further information was given, but he said if you experience this, roll back to the prior version for now while their engineers work on the problem.

It appears there is some sort of glitch they're aware of, if the support agents are telling you to rollback for now and to pause the updates.

I went and dug out Microsof support's previous reply from October, this was their advice to fix if you want to try but to me it is a really, really poor solution to drop on customers. I have not tried it yet as struggling for time.

    For 11:- Download Windows 11

    1. Click on Download tool now (media creation tool)
    2. Launch the MCT app from downloads
    3. Select Language, edition and bit architecture
    4. You'll get 2 options, Upgrade this PC orCreate installation Media
    5. Select Create installation media and click next
    6. You'll get 2 options, USB Flash Driveor ISO File
    7. Select USB Flash Driveif you want to create a bootable pen-drive.
    8. Select ISO FILE if you want to download the ISO Setup.
    9. Select the location path for ISO File downloading.
    10. Select Start

    1. In-place /Repair:-

Either repair any bugs in the windows or upgrade it to the latest version

    No data loss

    1. Go to downloads
    2. Open ISO Folder and launch "setup"
    3. Accept Terms and Conditions.
    4. Choose how to download update (Either Now or Not right Now)
    5. Select edition and click Next.
    6. Choose what to keep (Either keep all data or Keep all apps and data).
    7. Click on Next and start the installation.

Just located my product key for Windows 11 Pro and tried to re-enter the key.

However, Windows gave me the following error message when trying to enter the second character of the key "Some of these characters can't appear in the product key." I'm wondering if the letter "I" is no longer welcome????

    Dear valkyre,

Thank you for your reply and attempt. I understand that you can't seem to activate using the OEM key at the moment. I reviewed the link I sent you in my last reply, and more users reported the same problem, and they all activated using the OEM key. This may be a problem with the update to 24H2.

I suggest trying to contact the customer service staff and tell them your current situation, that the activation failed after the update to 24H2, and tell them your key type. See if they have a solution.

Go to the following Web site: Contact - Microsoft Support.

Select Contact Support(sign in to your personal Microsoft account).

Under Products and services, select options related to your product.

    UnderCategory, selectManage my subscription.

    Go to Confirm.

Select Chat with a support representative or request a callback.

(You may need to enter your question first, then see the Login, Contact options)

I hope the above information can help you. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

    Best Wishes
