Proxy Settings Per User - problems

Can anyone advise me how to stop the 'Proxy settings per user' in the Registry under 'Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings' from returning to Zero everytime I reboot the PC when I want it to stay set at 1. I am not an expert on PC but can sort things out if I'm given clear instructions. I am running the latest up to date version of Windows 10. Many thanks in advance.

    Hi John, This is Ramesh.

    If you're using Windows 10 Pro or higher, you can configure the setting using the local group policy editor.

    Launch "gpedit.msc" and go to the following branch:

    Computer Configuration → Administrative Templates → Windows Components → Internet Explorer.

    Double-click "Make proxy settings per-machine (rather than per-user)" and configure it accordingly.

    Thanks for that Romesh but I only have a standard windows 10 please see screen shot where as you can see it has reverted once more to zero and I need it to be 1. Thank for your help though :)

    Hi John,

    In the screenshot, I see the value data of "ProxySettingsPerUser" is set to 1, not 0.

    Appologies Ramesh, I thought it showed at zero. I obviously had reset it when I took the picture which is what I have to do everytime I open up the PC!

    You can run a ProcMon boot trace to see which process is changing the registry value. Please see "Gather boot log files" in this ESET article.
