Proxy Settings Per User - problems

Can anyone advise me how to stop the 'Proxy settings per user' in the Registry under 'Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings' from returning to Zero everytime I reboot the PC when I want it to stay set at 1. I am not an expert on PC but can sort things out if I'm given clear instructions. I am running the latest up to date version of Windows 10. Many thanks in advance.

Ramesh Srinivasan 87,865 Reputation points Independent Advisor2024-10-03T16:47:06+00:00 The audit is correctly set. Technically, any write operations to that registry key should be logged in the Security event log ( Event ID: 4657).
Perhaps you can set the proxy value to 1, reboot Windows. Once it reverts to 0, open Event Viewer and look for the latest "4657" event.
If no entries are logged, I'm afraid we need to again rely on ProcMon.
