Yesterday I installed some updates (24H2) on a Windows 11 Pro OS.

After that the connection to my work VPN stopped connecting correctly.

Did anyone have the same issue?

How can I solve?

Tnx

    Hello,

To resolve this issue for Check Point VPN users, use the Check Point Capsule VPN application.

You can download it from the Microsoft Store using the following link:
    Check Point Capsule VPN

    System Requirements:

    • Available on: PC, Mobile, Surface Hub, HoloLens
    • Operating System: Windows 10 version 10240.0 or higher

    Setup Instructions:

    1. Once the application is downloaded, navigate to the "VPN" section in your Network Settings.
    2. When adding a new VPN profile, ensure you select "Check Point Capsule VPN" as the VPN provider.
    3. For quick access, you can add the VPN connection as a Quick Action in the "Notifications & Actions" section of your system settings.

I've followed these steps, and everything is working perfectly!

    Regards,

    Ajay

We ran into the same issue on Windows 11 24H2—VPN connects, but the internet drops completely. This has been happening since 22H2, and somehow, it’s even worse now.

We tried updating to the latest Check Point client (E88.60.1) from E88.60, but no luck. However, we found a workaround that actually fixes it:

    1. Navigate to:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\CheckPoint\Endpoint Security\Endpoint Connect

    1. Open trac.defaults in a text editor (Run as Administrator).
    2. Find this line:

    route_conflict_resolution_method

    1. Change it to:

    route_conflict_resolution_method STRING "modify" GLOBAL 1

    1. Save the file, restart the VPN client, and it should work.

Hopefully, Microsoft and Check Point address this properly soon. In the meantime, this should help anyone stuck with the issue!

On the computers we tested this solved the problem. We stopped the further transition to 24h2.

I am not sure what this parameter is for and what its impact is. Should this be reset to its default value later?

Yeah, don't use VPNs. All they do is block your devices ability to connect to pretty much anything. They might keep your data safe, but they also keep you from sending/receiving anything. I recommend shopping for a good firewall app which does exactly what a VPN is supposed to do. Every time I've ever tried to use one, all it did was severely limit or altogether cut me off from the Internet.

VPN = scam (My opinion based on experience)

This is about corporate use where CP is both the VPN and antivirus. VPN is the only way for our users to access corporate resources externally, and it’s not that simple
