Yesterday I installed some updates (24H2) on a Windows 11 Pro OS.

After that the connection to my work VPN stopped connecting correctly.

Did anyone have the same issue?

How can I solve?

Tnx

We ran into the same issue on Windows 11 24H2—VPN connects, but the internet drops completely. This has been happening since 22H2, and somehow, it’s even worse now.

We tried updating to the latest Check Point client (E88.60.1) from E88.60, but no luck. However, we found a workaround that actually fixes it:

    1. Navigate to:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\CheckPoint\Endpoint Security\Endpoint Connect

    1. Open trac.defaults in a text editor (Run as Administrator).
    2. Find this line:

    route_conflict_resolution_method

    1. Change it to:

    route_conflict_resolution_method STRING "modify" GLOBAL 1

    1. Save the file, restart the VPN client, and it should work.

Hopefully, Microsoft and Check Point address this properly soon. In the meantime, this should help anyone stuck with the issue!

    Hello,

To resolve this issue for Check Point VPN users, use the Check Point Capsule VPN application.

You can download it from the Microsoft Store using the following link:
    Check Point Capsule VPN

    System Requirements:

    • Available on: PC, Mobile, Surface Hub, HoloLens
    • Operating System: Windows 10 version 10240.0 or higher

    Setup Instructions:

    1. Once the application is downloaded, navigate to the "VPN" section in your Network Settings.
    2. When adding a new VPN profile, ensure you select "Check Point Capsule VPN" as the VPN provider.
    3. For quick access, you can add the VPN connection as a Quick Action in the "Notifications & Actions" section of your system settings.

I've followed these steps, and everything is working perfectly!

    Regards,

    Ajay

I had the same issue to the point where I ended up completely re-installing my OS ( full wipe). I then rebuilt it creating restore points along the way everytime I installed something new or a new update. It was working flawless again (including NordVPN) for about two weeks. It was not until yesterday the 16th when these two updates were installed and started causing the issues again with not being able to connect to the internet no matter what I did. Oh BTW I had also added a rule for the VPN to get through the firewall and that did not fix the issue. Once I uninstalled update (KB5050009) and (KB5049622) I restarted and everything started to work flawlesly again. See attached picture for more info.

The only solution to this is the following

    1. Shut down the Remote Access VPN Client.
    2. Open Windows Services (services.msc), search and stop these Check Point Watchdog services:

    Check Point Endpoint Client Watchdog

    Check Point Endpoint Security VPN

    1. Go to the installation folder of the Remote Access VPN client.

    C:\Program Files (x86)\CheckPoint\Endpoint Security\Endpoint Connect\

    1. Create a copy of the trac.defaults file.
    2. Edit the trac.defaults file in a plain-text editor such as Notepad++.
    3. Change the parameter route_conflict_resolution_method from:

    route_conflict_resolution_method STRING "delete_create" GLOBAL 1

    to

    route_conflict_resolution_method STRING "modify" GLOBAL 1

    1. Save the file and close the editor.
    2. Restart the stopped (Check Point Endpoint Client Watchdog and Check Point Endpoint Security VPN) services.
    3. Reconnect with the Remote Access VPN client.

So this seems to be an issue as far back as last October. Does anyone know if Microsoft has acknowledged the issue and is working on a fix (other than rolling back to 23H2)?
