Hello

I never had any problems with my PC .

Windows 11, version 24H2 update is ready to install, I approve the restart, it starts working, stops at 68% for 5 minutes, then restarts and turns off PC. When I booth back, it simply wants to download it and install it again.

Troubleshooter shows Error but offers no solution.

I have downloaded the ISO and followed all instructions, but 26% in, the installer just stops all goes back to windows and says Windows 11 instalation failed.

Any ideas?

Don't think Ive ever even seen this dialogue!

If you mean the one that includes Arabic scrippt support, Chinese spplem, ental fonts, etc and other suff like graphices tools, then

yes, it launches, with all options not selected, bt no error dialogue messages

Press Win + R, type "optionalfeatures.exe" and press Enter.

If it populates correctly (which means the servicing stack is fine) but the Windows setup still fails, then I'd suggest creating a new thread because this case may require additional troubleshooting.

    Ah, OK.

Typinng Optional features gives me a different dialogue.
Typing Optionalfeatrues.exe gives me this one

    Still no signs of errors.

If you think this should form a separate thread, what sort of Title/Subject line should it have to distinguish it from the current thread?

Tried this - after trying to update for a month. Still no luck.

I get a few different error codes - and for the most part it looks like microsoft don't think I have a laptop that meets the win11 requirements - and I should consider buying a new one. Problem is - this is a new one. It allready HAS win11 installed. I have made sure enough disc space has been freed. Lost track of all other helpful advice I have tried following, but it really starts piling up.

Getting real tired of this sh*t..

It's where I think Microsoft has bitten off more than it could chew with this update since it's changed the rules and re-engineered too much to make a smooth path from W11 23h2 to W11 24h2. The issues were picked up in the Insider programme and not dealt with, that's the view of those people involved with it.

You got to dump all the non Microsoft virus programmes, all the clever disk management stuff, all the special programs you dearly love. Put that technical hat on if doing yourself. The problem is where they tell you to update old driver, which ?. Updating those drivers can cause the first boot to fail. It's a question of good notes and being methodical as you start to update drivers. None of my drivers needed updating just a rogue memory integrity one on second boot removed.

    Thanks for the info.

For the separate thread, you can use the same title as this thread. No issues.
