Windows 11, version 24H2 won't install

Setuplogscollect.bat did not create a zip file. For every .evtx file, it reported these lines (I took a screenshot, used Sh+Win+T to copy the text, then manually corrected the output shown below):

The system cannot find the file specified.

Then it would say "Waiting 30 seconds" and start again. About the tenth time (I was typing other notes while it ran) I noticed it was repeating itself.

The app Everything confirms each .evtx file is in the directory list in the command window.

I can manually copy and paste the contents of each setuperr.log (in C:$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Panther) if that helps. Easy to do.
When I tried viewing the .evtx files in Notepad, Notepad++, or Metapad, I'd get an error.

About a dozen messages arrived while we were out getting a Christmas tree. I'll browse though them soon.

Maybe you can collect them manually.

• Open the "C:$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources" folder.
• Select the two folders, "Panther" and "Rollback" (if present).
• Delete the GenuineTicket.xml file in the Panther folder.
• Copy the two folders to the desktop and Zip them.
• Upload the zip file to OneDrive and share the link here.

Done this. Removed all drivers listed as non compliant.

Update still fails.

ONLY thing I haven't tried is uninstalling my Norton antivirus rather than just fiddling it for the duration of the update.

I really resent being forced to do this when it hasn't ever caused any issues on prior updates.

But having battered my head against this update process for weeks now, I must just give it a try

I have decided that sometime these brilliant programmers can figure it out and resend out to us...I am a sales guy... I am not going to try until they get this fixed!! I update everyone that comes across...so it's not because I have not downloaded updates.

Somethings they won't be able to fix. Non compliant drivers if they took the associated program out it would stop that working. There is only so much they can do. By tightening up security in this release it's left the difficulties of upgrading. Suppose they could say it needs to uninstall the following and you agree to it. Etc. Wait a few months for that may be.

Have you done the farbar one. I did that about 6 weeks ago so knew it was a driver issue. Just finding it is the issue. You can't have any non Microsoft anti virus programs they need to be ditched. You don't need them in anycase.

Then it marries up on the first boot drivers then does onto the second boot where memory integrity is tested on what drivers you got.

Failing that you need an expert on those log files or get yourself up to speed on reading them. Possible a driver hasn't been written yet or fails on the matching in the first boot. That's the crazy thing the latest drivers may fail on the first boot whilst other drivers which aren't required may fail on the second boot. Getting to 70% means you are close to there. Less than that you are way back from getting there. I bounced a few time backwards and forwards. The iso recommended ones shouldn't be used, that introduces the problem ones or can... that's well known.

It is very frustrating going round in circles on it. Great when it works.
