Windows 11, version 24H2 won't install

Hello

I never had any problems with my PC .

Windows 11, version 24H2 update is ready to install, I approve the restart, it starts working, stops at 68% for 5 minutes, then restarts and turns off PC. When I booth back, it simply wants to download it and install it again.

Troubleshooter shows Error but offers no solution.

I have downloaded the ISO and followed all instructions, but 26% in, the installer just stops all goes back to windows and says Windows 11 instalation failed.

Any ideas?

    How Microsoft can insist that no other antivirus program than their own can be present when doing the update, I can't comprehend.

    Mine is Norton. Never ever given a problem before during loss of updates.

    I deleted all the drivers hvciscan identified (mostly for a Logitech webcam I use, but also one which is used to download videos (jaksta)

    After all this, hvciscan said no drivers were found as non compliant.

    The update still fails with the same code as before

    0xc1900101 - 0x20017 failed in safe_os during boot

    Yes, it is, but it looks like they may have been working on it and changed things so that it works. It did for me anyway.

    I have tried probably 25 times over a month period and it goes maybe 33% Then it shutsdown...

    everytime...very frustrating.

    This has been happening to me for 2 weeks now, getting so far with the download then going back to the start...... Until today. It has just went all the way to 100% and installed the update without me doing anything that has been suggested below. I'm nowhere near clever enough to do the suggested fixes. It took about 6 hours to download but it got there.

    I know it's been a pain, but it shows sometimes it's best just to leave things alone and they will eventually get sorted.
