I am having trouble with 24H2. Will not download. Quits after 35% or so.
Delete the update cache:
Go to the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download folder and delete all files in it. Found it but will not let me delete any of the files
I never got an "Update" message in the last week when I "shut down." Apparently it has been trying to install 24HS since Dec 12 and has failed each time. I now have a notice that I don't have much storage space left. I have never had a problem with this laptop == new in Dec 2022.
Link to Windows is very wonky since this started. I do not have HDR auto turned on.
Help, please. So annoying.
You might have the failed images taking up space. It should auto delete them as part of the update house keeping or may be it needs to install properly for the house keeping to come in. I did get a whole host of those at one point, a duff drivers on the safe boot stage. Going into boot you see them. Failed boot setups. Windows 11 will multi boot so the failures can appear as multiboot.
If you aren't triggering off the updates yourself, Microsoft systems give up after a bit and will start off attempting themselves. You'll be one of the many with this issue.
