Windows 11, version 24H2 won't install

I have done everything suggested in this reply, and the update still will not install. It is impossible to actually reach a Microsoft technician. Please advise. This is truly a major Microsoft failure. I get a prompt to restart my computer daily. I restart it, and the same error message 0xd0000034 appears every time with the notice that the update failed to install

I don't think you're reading the comment properly. I said it's downloaded but won't install. I've got 2.3 GB of space left because it's downloaded, but I can't install. There's absolutey nothing else that I can delete. Solution for that please?

You have got to free up a lot of storage space to get it to install which is really your problem. You might have a recycle bin that needs cleaning out but other than that you are stuck. If it's a system where you can install an additional drive then is a possibility. On mine I store music files on a different drive. If you can do something like that or is it a laptop with limited expansion then you have stuffed it full of stuff to a point where you can't update or as I suggested you might have a lot in your recycle bin than can be cleaned out.

I have the exact same problem.

I have an ASUS ROG Strix G614JVR; specs:

Intel Core i9 14900HX

Samsung DDR5-5600 32GB RAM

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU

WD SN850X 2TB SSD

For a time now I've been experiencing some system instabillity. I started noticing when all my video games began crashing randomly. Sometimes after a few minutes, sometimes after a few hours. But all of them. Witcher 3, Subnautica, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Overcooked 2. Then I started getting random bluescreens, though rarely. Then my Google Chrome started either closing on it's own, or, more frequently (every 5-10 minutes or so), YouTube pages would crash and I would have to reload them (STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION Error most frequently, but not all the time.)

So I became worried and I started searching online for solutions. I did everything I read online or ChatGPT suggested me.

I tested my RAM using MemTest86, everything is fine.

I monitored temperatures using HWMonitor, temperatures are all acceptable.

I did chkdsk /f /r | sfc /scannow | DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

I scanned the system using Malwarebytes.

I verified SSD health using CrystalDiskInfo. It says Good 100%

I tried updating BIOS, even though I was using the latest version. (BIOS Version: 320; GOP Version: 17.0.1081; EC Version: G614/VREC.031)

I came across a reddit thread saying it could be my processor's fault, so I went into BIOS, disabled all ECores and then started taking away PCores one by one to see if it would fix the issue. It didn't.

So I started thinking it could be Windows' fault. I downloaded Windows 11 Installation Assistant, started the process but at some point I got the error "Windows 11 installation has failed". Tried the ISO way too, but then I got this error: 0x8007001E - 0x20007 The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during INSTALL_DRIVERS operation".

After that I restarted the laptop and I got a screen like this: "Choose an operating system Windows 11 On volume 3 | Windows 11 On volume 3"

At first update 24H2 didn't appear in Windows Update but after one of the failed installs it did, tried installing it from Windows Update but then I get "Install error - 0xc0000005"

So then I came across this thread, downloaded hvciscan_amd64.exe, placed it into System32, opened CMD as Admin, ran "hvciscan_amd64.exe > output.txt", but then it gave me this:

So then if my RAM is good, my SSD is good, no drivers prohibit the Windows 11 install, then what the hell is going on? Is my processor faulty? Should I replace it? Or is this just some Windows bullcrap? I just want to fix the system instabillity I'm experiencing. I thought trying to repair Windows would do the trick, but I can't even do that.

The problem with making command line corrections by ourselves is it relieves M$ of its responsibilities and liability issues.

They have to correct it or revert it.

Reverse they won't. It's a Catch 22 situation they improved security of the drivers which causes the failure to upgrade, they would have to weaken the security to get the same upgrade success as in previous annual releases. They aren't going to do that.

It comes from 24h2 development being Windows 12, they changed their mind so you get a bump in the track. That's the theory when 24h2 came out by many. They aren't going to fix the driver memory integrity issue.... my issue. You have to sort that out yourself. People were down grading the backend security to force through updates. Those "experts" saying wait six months for Microsoft to sort it out have been proven wrong.

Given Microsoft have internal squabbles with themselves over the need for TPM they aren't going to do a mid course correction on security. They are holding the line. The fun thing is all those Windows 10 people holding out will also hit the brick wall. Another new bank of users with issues.
