Windows 11, version 24H2 won't install

I did the same thing -- uninstalled & deleted - used an external drive as suggested -- and I did what they recommended - installation failed - so we are stuck

I try option 2 however when i start to delete the files it will crash and not delete any. Please help!

yeah that didn't work. i don't know what i can do to get this to work. i don't know where to go to fix corrupted files. it tells me my laptop does not meet system requirements. what am i supposed to do a full reset?

Its how people get it on their old machines. You can go about 12 years back in hardware. In fact 24h2 is less fussy on old hardware than new hardware.

Your question on the Microsoft tool won't be this one, just that it's detected your hardware is not 24h2 compliant. There is a tool on the 24h2 download website. That will tell you your hardware is not compliant and why. If it's that fancy boot chip use the server method. Suspect loads of Windows 10 people will be doing this. Microsoft left the server method in we can assume for business users that couldn't replace their hardware... hence why it's called "server".

It is introduced by replacing the entire operating system with a newer version and is the biggest Windows 11 update since 2021.🤔

My Lenovo has been purchased already in 2016.

I downloaded the installation file**: Win11_24H2_Finnish_x64.iso (5.29 Gb)** from the official Windows 11 download page:

So … I downloaded the "virtual disk" or *.iso file (press the downloaded *.iso file with the right mouse button and then select "open in application" and then select "Resource management" and then click SETUP) and install from it - everything succeeded perfectly!

**All kinds of updates did start arriving normally immediately after the installation was completed!**😁👍

My old Lenovo laptop, which I installed Windows 11 on 2 years ago is NOT COMPATIBLE due to the processor: Intel Core i5 7200U CPU and had originally Windows 10 OS.

But if you are running an older version of Windows 11 (such as 23H2), then it obviously does meet the original W11 requirements.

Then it's a question of what it is about your pc that the new 24H2 update doesn't like.

Hvciscan_amd64.exe is a tool you can download from microsoft that can list any problematic drivers that cause the update to fail.

These are not listed when running the above mentioned pc healthcheck too

A. If it failers but has enough memory

B. If W11 compatible but fails at 70% above after weeding out all the other issues. That's the tool that isn't advertised much but finds the drivers it's tripping up on which the installation neglects to tell you.

C. The reinstalling covered further up is used as a reset of the current system. It's equivalent to the acres of posts you read that say stop, start... blah, blah, blah. You do an in placed restore.

Before all of this remove non Microsoft virus checking programs.

That's the one mount the iso drive... no need for Rufus that people rabbit on about.
