Windows 11, version 24H2 won't install

Hello

I never had any problems with my PC .

Windows 11, version 24H2 update is ready to install, I approve the restart, it starts working, stops at 68% for 5 minutes, then restarts and turns off PC. When I booth back, it simply wants to download it and install it again.

Troubleshooter shows Error but offers no solution.

I have downloaded the ISO and followed all instructions, but 26% in, the installer just stops all goes back to windows and says Windows 11 instalation failed.

Any ideas?

    Further to my prior post.

As of today (Dec 6, 2024), it seems that the 24H2 update has been pulled from distribution, at least for my system. When I go in Microsoft Update I don't see it as a pending update and any mention of failed 24H2 updates has been removed from the update history. I assume this may be an indication that the 24H2 update is back in the shop for some fine tuning before being re-released.

It’s not published more because that’s Microsoft’s job to NOT have users do that. With all due respect, you wrote five miles of instructions and expect people to do that? There are operating systems crashing everywhere, “ Oh, let me basically rebuild my entire computer because of Microsoft’s ineptitude.” No, this is wrong. If you bought a car and the dealership told you to remove all four tires, wait 2 hours and put them back on for it to run correctly, would you do that? I appreciate your knowledge and sharing, but this is Microsoft’s mess and surely a class action suit to follow.

I'm so sick of the same stupid Run DISM and SFC scans suggestion. Never once has one of those fixed my issues with updates failing. Yet again another stupid ms update breaking things. Now I have this issue with the 24H2 failing to install, and HARASSING ME every time I try to use windows. My computer is working just fine, many updates working without problem, yet suddenly I can't even get this update to install. I've already cleared the update cache, it redownloaded, and still same issue. No drivers are out of date, and nothing is broken with my install of windows.

GIVE US A WAY TO STOP A SPECIFIC UPDATE IF THEY FAIL! STOP TRYING OVER AND OVER AND OVER WHEN SOMETHING'S CLEARLY WRONG WITH IT.

This failed on my system as well. The result really screwed my system.

Drivers were now missing, MS teams could no longer authenticate me, and Outlook won't boot up (stuck in processing).

Opening Outlook in safe mode, it won't update my inboxes for any of my accounts.

Rolling back to the restore point just before the upgrade attempt did not resolve any of the Teams or Outlook issues.

None of my attempts at restoring outlook, even re-installing, have resolved the issues.

    Great update, Microsoft. nice job.
