Windows 11, version 24H2 won't install

I have the same problem, 24H2 won't completely update. I get to 100% then, geta message that the update failed. If many people are having issues, why don't you fix the update. Really annoying!!! Please respond.

Yes, I did run hvciscan_amd64 - with no results, right from the start.

Look what these results are:

Anyway, all these Microsoft Windows hurdles and hoops are moot. I have stopped updates for as long as possible, only open them once a week to check if there are other "normal" updates to install, then stop updates again. And I'll wait until Microsoft has cleaned up this unconscionable mess - rumors say, sometime in February. We'll see. How dare such a company have countless users, who have real work to do, wade through such shenanigans, is beyond me or any other common sense person.

Oh, and yes, my device is compatible with Windows 11. Is Microsoft perhaps trying to have us buy new machines? They have really sunk very, very low.

yeah that didn't work. i don't know what i can do to get this to work. i don't know where to go to fix corrupted files. it tells me my laptop does not meet system requirements. what am i supposed to do a full reset?

Ok if you got the memory required installed then you can use whats called the server method to install 24h2. Assorted youtube video if you Google

Its how people get it on their old machines. You can go about 12 years back in hardware. In fact 24h2 is less fussy on old hardware than new hardware.

Your question on the Microsoft tool won't be this one, just that it's detected your hardware is not 24h2 compliant. There is a tool on the 24h2 download website. That will tell you your hardware is not compliant and why. If it's that fancy boot chip use the server method. Suspect loads of Windows 10 people will be doing this. Microsoft left the server method in we can assume for business users that couldn't replace their hardware... hence why it's called "server".

I updated Oct 18 on my old and "incompatible" Lenovo💻the big 24H2 update without any problems - it took 1 h 28 min to install the update!

It is introduced by replacing the entire operating system with a newer version and is the biggest Windows 11 update since 2021.🤔

My Lenovo has been purchased already in 2016.

I downloaded the installation file**: Win11_24H2_Finnish_x64.iso (5.29 Gb)** from the official Windows 11 download page:

So … I downloaded the "virtual disk" or *.iso file (press the downloaded *.iso file with the right mouse button and then select "open in application" and then select "Resource management" and then click SETUP) and install from it - everything succeeded perfectly!

My old Lenovo laptop, which I installed Windows 11 on 2 years ago is NOT COMPATIBLE due to the processor: Intel Core i5 7200U CPU and had originally Windows 10 OS.

Yes got it running on two 2011/2012 original Windows 7 machines. i3 / i5. 16gb memory. Put SSDs in both some years ago. They run smoothly mainly as office equipment / still photography. Why throw out equipment that works ?.

Drivers and incompatible programs are the two.

Farbar is recommended by the knowledgeable it gives you a breakdown of what's on it. You use the windows 11 iso download but don't take the recommended option to update drivers, leave as is. If it gets to 70% and fails.

I've given a worked example on the thread. That program throws up drivers that are not compatible in the final installation stage of 24h2. Examine and delete. Reboot. Do installation again.

I discovered talk of that program 7 weeks in. That was my issue and it just pulled one pesky Adobe DVD driver that was the issue. Think it might have been part of Lightroom, either way it was on the machine.
