antivirus not working

antivirus not working, I see lots of instances of this on YouTube self-fix. I've tried a few - with no improvement?

lets face it IT support is non-existent from Windows

any of you have any tips?

    using Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool at the minute, see what that does, I'll keep that in mind your lat suggestion

    Please mention the problem you're facing with the antivirus program. Are you referring to Microsoft Defender Antivirus?

    If you're receiving any errors, please mention them here. Also, mention the steps you've tried so far.

    Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool didn't find anything

    so to try your other thing - the fix, if that was yours?

    I'm on the wrong suggestion :-)

    Ok, please try the fix posted in my earlier reply.

    Try the updated Security Health package below:

    Download and run it as administrator.

    this program won't even launch - admin or otherwise!

    100% useless, unless something suddenly happens after checking it for 20 minutes
