I can't access other computers on the network after the windows 11 24H2 update

After 2 weeks of beating my head against the fall--this worked!!

thanks so much it works perfect--GREAT work!! Such a simple fix, but it solved my issues.

I can see other computers on my network but I have no access. I've checked all of the network settings. This all happened right after the windows 11 24H2 completed. I updated all the computers on the network and still no access.

problem solved for the Windows 11 24H2 update.

to allow access to your folders, the following works (after I tried every other thing that doesn't)

go to Start, type Powershell, Right click on Windows Powershell, and Run as Administrator.

Enter these commands one at a time, and Enter.

Set-SmbClientConfiguration -EnableInsecureGuestLogons $true -Force

Set-SmbClientConfiguration -RequireSecuritySignature $false -Force

Set-SmbServerConfiguration -RequireSecuritySignature $false -Force

These worked on a brand new install, and after the update.

I am a user with the same network issue. Did you ever figure out how to get the network to work again after the Win 11 24H2 update?

No, since win 11 update 24H2, my network is non functional. No other chances, i just keep getting the dialog box to log in then it tells me my login is not correct or I don't have permission to access the files. I set all permissions to shared. The only change is Win 11 24H2 upgrade. I am unable to use my 6 networked computers, business is stopped.

If you see the dialog box asking for login, understand that it is requesting the credentials from the computer you are trying to log into, not the computer you are currently using.,

you can bypass that by turning off the Password protected sharing in Advance network sharing under all networks, bottom option.
