I can't access other computers on the network after the windows 11 24H2 update

Use \localhost to find your computer. At leas you will know if you are connected to the network. Sometimes you need to reboot the router and the computers.

Sadly, perhaps due to my old age I am still unable to see the folders on my windows 10Home laptop that have for years displayed their contents on my windows 11Pro PC. Have spent many hours trying to sort this from the advice I have read and I am hoping  Microsoft will produce a guide as to how to fix this. My display shown below is odd. What is "1"? I have tried all my passwords to no effect. On the laptop I have set the folders to 'allow access to everybody' or similar phrase. Having had PC's/windows since windows 95 and before I have never applied a patch that Microsoft has sent me  which instantly messed up my setup. Oh and I have rebooted both PC's and router. Not sure where to go now ..hoping Microsoft will assist

Hi, you will see from my other updates on here that despite spending even more time checking the SUMMIT D's list and everything else that people have said and rebooted everything I still cant see my laptop folders (win10home) on my main pc (WIN11 pro). What do I do now?

I can see other computers on my network but I have no access. I've checked all of the network settings. This all happened right after the windows 11 24H2 completed. I updated all the computers on the network and still no access.

problem solved for the Windows 11 24H2 update.

to allow access to your folders, the following works (after I tried every other thing that doesn't)

go to Start, type Powershell, Right click on Windows Powershell, and Run as Administrator.

Enter these commands one at a time, and Enter.

Set-SmbClientConfiguration -EnableInsecureGuestLogons $true -Force

Set-SmbClientConfiguration -RequireSecuritySignature $false -Force

Set-SmbServerConfiguration -RequireSecuritySignature $false -Force

These worked on a brand new install, and after the update.

You either work for Microsoft or are brilliant as that patch has wasted a lot of my last 2 weeks time trying every recommendation that's been given on here with no success,

   I had started plans to make a major move of equipment  as the o/p of security cameras goes to a win10Home laptop via wifi and hence  via lan cable to a win11pro  that is out of range of the cameras.

After a few drinks I will now start putting pc's back where they are convenient.

Be good if Microsoft can update/fix that patch as many others must b getting the problems we've had.
