I can see other computers on my network but I have no access. I've checked all of the network settings. This all happened right after the windows 11 24H2 completed. I updated all the computers on the network and still no access.

I have the same issue. This is the message I get when trying to access my NAS drive,
Same with trying to access other network computers.
Network discovery is ON.
File and Printer sharing is ON.
No other system changes have been made other than the automatic upgrade to 24H2 which happened last Thursday. Please help. I need access to the files on my drives!
this confused me the first time i saw it so i used my microsoft password.
me too, cant access my shared folder on a laptop on my network..was ok until KB5050021 went in last night. Really messed things up. Think I will remove the patch and hope!
SOLUTION found: I was reluctant at first, but I guess we all have to lose sometimes.
Assuming that SMB 1.0 is enabled on all the computers (control panel/turn windows features on or off):
First ensure that all the computers are in the same Workgroup (Right click My Computer/Properties) and that all the connections are set to private (left click on the connection icon, choose the connection and click on the ! mark to choose Private). Ensure that network discovery and sharing are enabled.
Go to the folder you want to share, right click and choose "share". On the next menu, choose share with: everyone, and give permission to read and write.
The trick is to use a password or a pin on every computer even if you choose to share to everyone. Some computers require that you use the "share with command and follow the instructions on the next windows).
