messages.google.com is a good alternative, but you lose phone call/data sharing functionality. If those functions are important to you, I would recommend Intel Unison. It has a few bugs of its own, like some chats failing to refresh, but it is much better than dealing with this awful mess of a program.
Using Phone Link on computer it creates a group in chat - and does not send message to recipient
Phone is up to date
Computers are both up to date with MS update
BUT
Using Phone Link when I send a message to one of the people I message often rather than send message it creates a group. (see below)
On my phone it then shows as a group chat - which I can't edit
Works fine on my phone - but not on Phone Link - on both computers I own. Screenshot of how it ends up below.
I also have quite a few messages where both the name of recipient and my phone number comes up - just a bit of a pain.
I'd really appreciate any help on this
Thanks heaps
Gary

2025-01-29T02:58:18+00:00 It works fine on Phine Link Version 1.24111.82.0, then they broke it with next update. (So I keep reverting back to 1.24111.82.0)

2025-01-29T12:12:59+00:00 I've been having the same problem, but it even gets worse with using Samsung messages than Google message. Creating TWO new chats, one of which is a group chat with me and the other contact, then just a new chat with the same message from myself. Meanwhile the message doesn't even show up in the original chat I typed it in to! Unbelievable.
Btw I used Phone link before without this happening. It only started the past couple months. SO annoying for trying to use with your business phone from your PC.

2025-01-31T09:24:07+00:00 Also having this issue. Replying to an SMS message using Phone Link on Windows 11 24H2, (using Samsung S24 with latest software) and Phone Link is creating a group with the recipient and ME. So i end up receiving my own message in a group back to me and the recipient gets it too.
Stupid.
Please fix this Microsoft, this is meant to be used for business - it's pretty poor.
