Using Phone Link on computer it creates a group in chat - and does not send message to recipient

Phone is up to date

Computers are both up to date with MS update

BUT

Using Phone Link when I send a message to one of the people I message often rather than send message it creates a group. (see below)

On my phone it then shows as a group chat - which I can't edit

Works fine on my phone - but not on Phone Link - on both computers I own. Screenshot of how it ends up below.

I also have quite a few messages where both the name of recipient and my phone number comes up - just a bit of a pain.

I'd really appreciate any help on this

Thanks heaps

Gary

You say that it's "basically normal". I have a text thread with my brother. Once, a while back, I had a short text thread with both my brother and my son. Since that time, every time I send a text solely to my brother, it shows on Phone Link as sent to both brother & son. My son has repeatedly "left the group" but Phone Link doesn't care. I have attempted to "repair" Phone link w/o success. Had to reset. BS, if you ask me.

Same issue. How long does it have to take until you fix a problem?

Same issue for me, Google Pixel 9, Windows 11 Pro Build 21600. Only recently updated Phone Link. I only use the default messages app on my Pixel phone, no 3rd party apps for messaging...other than phone link. I open a messages chat with someone on phone link, type a message, hit send. My phone pings...I check it and I have a new 'group' created with my message in it. In the chat with my friend on my phone my message doesn't appear.

Then my friend replies from their phone, and it appears in the normal chat on my phone, but my message isn't there, it's in the new group chat phone link created. So I lose that message trail history. I've stopped using phone link now for this reason and will watch this thread to see if Microsoft ever fix it.

EDIT: Actually I take it back...saw the post about messages.google.com a page back, that'll replace Phone Link entirely, hopefully a lot less bugs.
