Using Phone Link on computer it creates a group in chat - and does not send message to recipient

Phone is up to date

Computers are both up to date with MS update

BUT

Using Phone Link when I send a message to one of the people I message often rather than send message it creates a group. (see below)

On my phone it then shows as a group chat - which I can't edit

Works fine on my phone - but not on Phone Link - on both computers I own. Screenshot of how it ends up below.

I also have quite a few messages where both the name of recipient and my phone number comes up - just a bit of a pain.

I'd really appreciate any help on this

Thanks heaps

Gary

I am also having the same problem in the last few days or so it has randonmly started creating group chats and even adding myself in the group chat & texting my own phone number as well. Have been using the app almost everyday for over 12 months with no problems until just recently. Some of the groups it is creating are getting bigger as well up to 10+ people listed but I don't believe it is actually texting most any of them, however it is creating junk in the messages inbox on the phone. I am using the standard Samsung messaging app on an S22 Ultra.

I have the exact same problem. My phone is a Pixel 8 using Google Messages. Messages replied to on the phone work without issue.

I'm at the point where I now only use Phone Link to read messages, not reply to them (which does rather reduce the usefulness of the app).

Interesting that it seems to be Android users having this issue...I'm assuming Phone Link works with iphones??

Exactly the same behaviour on a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra - one of my created "group chats" now has many users in it including work colleagues and family members! I have a message thread from myself with heaps of disparate messages. It is to the point I am about to disable it entirely as its raison d'etre is now completely undermined. I have tried resetting it and relinking it multiple times. Once more, it seems, Microsoft feature creep just becoming a bug infested mess.
