Using Phone Link on computer it creates a group in chat - and does not send message to recipient

Phone is up to date

Computers are both up to date with MS update

BUT

Using Phone Link when I send a message to one of the people I message often rather than send message it creates a group. (see below)

On my phone it then shows as a group chat - which I can't edit

Works fine on my phone - but not on Phone Link - on both computers I own. Screenshot of how it ends up below.

I also have quite a few messages where both the name of recipient and my phone number comes up - just a bit of a pain.

I'd really appreciate any help on this

Thanks heaps

Gary

Still getting the same issue with latest versions:

Link for Windows 1.25012.94.0 from Google Play

Google Messages 20250212_01_RC00.phone.dynamic as my texting app on my LG V60.

Phone Link 1.25012.107.0 on my Windows 11 laptop.

    Steps to reproduce issue:

Deleted duplicated conversation on my phone.

    Created a new group text.

Sent a message to group from phone.

Replies created a new message group in Phone link on my laptop and split the replies from my initial message to the new group.

Group text looks fine from my phone; the duplication is only in Phone Link.

I've had the issue for months but today it finally updated and is working fine! It seems like everyone else had updated theirs but mine was still saying I had the latest version (1.25011.56.0). Today it finally changed to 1.25012.107.0.

I'm unsure why it took Microsoft so long to fix something that was an obvious concern for people, but I'm glad they did eventually.

Trust this works for everyone. Does anyone else have their personal number next to a contact after messaging??

that's my current version, but mine has been working fine since a previous update, I'm glad to hear yours is now OK, lets hope it stays that way.
