Samer problem here using truecaller, although it doesn't matter if I use other messenger apps. Had to switch to google messages on the web instead but I would really like for this to be fixed so I can go back to phonelink
Using Phone Link on computer it creates a group in chat - and does not send message to recipient
Phone is up to date
Computers are both up to date with MS update
BUT
Using Phone Link when I send a message to one of the people I message often rather than send message it creates a group. (see below)
On my phone it then shows as a group chat - which I can't edit
Works fine on my phone - but not on Phone Link - on both computers I own. Screenshot of how it ends up below.
I also have quite a few messages where both the name of recipient and my phone number comes up - just a bit of a pain.
I'd really appreciate any help on this
Thanks heaps
Gary

2025-01-14T20:10:26+00:00 Same issue - Android phone (LG G8X). App is essentially unusable now with the way it's creating MMS groups everywhere and pulling together random users into rooms.
Not sure how this passed Q/A - hopefully someone with the ability to actually escalate to dev. can have the live version rolled back to last known working configuration while it gets sorted out.
The fix posted by Andrew H5 above does work. I rolled back to v.124.111.82.0 using the installer from a 3rd-party site, and everything is back to normal. Who knows what kind of security risk this poses... It's kind of telling that we need to use a 3rd-party archive to roll back to a working version. Thanks MS :/

2025-01-14T00:05:46+00:00 I also have the same issue, Samsung S24, my Phone Link ver is 1.24112.110.0 As this is a new machine with 24H2 installed it may well be related to 24H2 but Phone link is up to date.
like others it's made Phone Link virtually unusable. A shame because I've found it a really useful program.

2025-01-13T23:49:38+00:00 This is exactly what I came searching for! Mine is doing the same thing on Samsung Galaxy S21. I've used the Phone Link app for 1 - 2 years with never an issue. Now it started doing this since around 19 December 2024 - which I assume was some kind of upgrade around that time. I use the app often as it saves time with SMS, but it's making it very difficult now and I'm reluctant to use it at all. If it doesn't improve I'll be looking elsewhere as I don't want double messages with separate threads on my phone.
