Can someone help me out here? After I updated my Windows software on my laptop this evening, I got a message saying "Your version of Windows has reached the end of service". This really confuses me because I'm on Windows 11 and I got a new laptop literally 2 months ago and I barely even used 10-15% of it's total memory space on my C Drive.

Does anyone know what's going on here? Does this mean I won't be able to get security updates for my Windows on my new laptop? Am I going to have to pay more money just to get Windows to work properly and stay up-to-date? I'm feeling very concerned.

    All OEM manufacturers test their hardware for future proofing Windows 11. They release their hardware and support their hardware for the current Windows 11 release and future, so that shouldn't be a problem.

    It may be the hardware needs a bios update or driver update. If the device you have was supplied with Windows 11 installed the the manufacturer should be supporting it.

    Microsoft release updated version for testing sometimes a year prior to release to allow manufacturers time to test their hardware to see if any changes to their software/bios is required.

    The exact problem you have just started for me this week as well. I have been trying all morning to fix it. Still nothing.

    Mine is now resolved, I installed the "Windows 11 Installation Assistant" and then was able to use that to update to the newer version. It took a bit of time, but it's all good now using version 24H2 - ironically my computer is much faster now and had slowed down quite a bit ?

    So you just ran “Windows 11 Installation Assistant” and it was able to get updated to the newest version? Is there anything special I need to know to run the Windows 11 Installation Assistant? Is it built in to the Windows 11 settings or within the Windows 11 operating system in which I don’t need to download it?

    That worked for me and I found that suggestion from another member on this forum. It did take quite a while, but it worked !
