Can someone help me out here? After I updated my Windows software on my laptop this evening, I got a message saying "Your version of Windows has reached the end of service". This really confuses me because I'm on Windows 11 and I got a new laptop literally 2 months ago and I barely even used 10-15% of it's total memory space on my C Drive.

Does anyone know what's going on here? Does this mean I won't be able to get security updates for my Windows on my new laptop? Am I going to have to pay more money just to get Windows to work properly and stay up-to-date? I'm feeling very concerned.

Thanks Chuck, for clarifying the procedure you used. That's a big help, and I appreciate it very much.

I've just looked at the Microsoft Download site, and they have a method using Windows 11 installation Assistant - "This is the best option for installing Windows 11 on the device you’re currently using." The procedure is as follows:

"After you download the Installation Assistant:

    1. Select  Run. You need to be an administrator to run this tool.
    2. Once the tool confirms the device hardware is compatible, you will be presented with the licence terms. Select  Accept and Install.
    3. Once the tool is ready, click the Restart Now button to complete installation on your computer.
    4. It might take some time to install Windows 11, and your PC will restart a few times. Make sure you don’t turn off your PC."

I was thinking this might be the simplest way for me to update to Windows 11 Ver 24H2. I could try this first, and see if it works as advertised.

    Regards,

    Greg.

I have exactly the same - my machine is brand new!

Everything has been working in Windows 11 until a few days ago. Now I get the following because Windows Update no longer functions.

Do I have to buy a new version of Windows 11 or what exactly is going on here?

I’m not an expert but it depends on the motherboard. If you can get it to have t.p.m .

I have one that maybe one won’t 😱 so I’ll get someone on it.

Regards and have a good Christmas. Don’t worry about it though I’ve been advised,

    Martin
