So my pc system settings say I'm on windows 11 pro but windows update says "Get the new version of windows to stay up to date Your version of windows has reached the end of service"

I finally tried the Windows Update Assistant...

It downloaded, etc., said download was successful, did the shutdown and restart, but when restarted, it never really did a restart...the screens were just blank forever, so I did a manual restart to get the computer started again, that worked, but when starting, screen said "undoing changes to computer"....but it came back up w/no problem, but w/version 23H2....oh well....

Will just stay as is....I don't have a removable plug in to do the download for 24H2 the other two ways you suggested.....was just hoping to do it from an online download...never had that problem before. I downloaded Windows 11 Home from online a couple yrs. ago w/no problem. Computer is working fine, just won't do the newer version update, oh well...will just stay as is and deal w/it.

I am working on a video to help assist you in upgrading to 24H2 to make things easier. I'm still getting everything neat and ready but will share this with you here or in another thread via a Google Drive link.

When you manually restart your computer during an update/upgrade, Windows thinks that you pulled the plug and then it will start to revert the upgrade.

I hear what you are saying and I understand...

I did let the computer do the shutdown/restart when it finished downloading, it did say, download complete, restarting, do not shut off, etc.....

Then it said, once it restarted, it said 20% Complete, 50%, Update completed, restarting...it restarted and the screens just stayed blank for over an hour, computer did not restart...screens were blank, so I did the manual restart so that I could get the computer back....

Will try again over the weekend because it does take a long time......

Thanks for your help, I get home from work about 6 ish.....but just so you know, I did wait for the restart and after an hour, it did nothing...
