So my pc system settings say I'm on windows 11 pro but windows update says "Get the new version of windows to stay up to date Your version of windows has reached the end of service"

Instead of upgrading straight to 24H2, I would recommend updating to 23H2 (released in the second half of 2023), the version before 24H2, and then using the steps I mentioned to vernglo vernglo (I can tell you the directions if you need)

To do this, you will need to download an enablement package from the Microsoft Update Catalog.

However, to make things easier, the direct download link to download the 23H2 enablement package is linked below, located at https://catalog.sf.dl.delivery.mp.microsoft.com/filestreamingservice/files/caa3ff4a-6420-4341-aeae-33b2d7f463be/public/windows11.0-kb5027397-x64_3a9c368e239bb928c32a790cf1663338d2cad472.msu. Once the .msu file finishes downloading, double click the file in your downloads folder and then you should see a window that is named "Windows Standalone Update Installer".

Let the Windows Standalone Update Installer install the enablement package, and then if prompted, restart your PC.

Then, you should be on Windows 11, version 23H2. You can check by opening the Start Menu, typing winver, then pressing the Enter key on your keyboard, and then it should say something like "Microsoft Windows Version 23H2".

Windows 11 23H2 isn't out of service just yet, so you can stay on 23H2, but if you would like to upgrade to 24H2, you can just ask for the instructions.

Link uploaded quickly, restarted computer per instructions and it is version 23H2!

At what point should 24H2 be uploaded, when I get the error, your version of Windows 11 is out of date...haha.....LOL...

I cant thank you enough for your help, you are the only one that was spot on w/advice that I did not have to pay for...haha...

If you would like to upgrade to 24H2 right now, you can do so using the Windows 11 Installation Assistant, the Windows 11 ISO, or the Media Creation Tool. All three of these options will get you to Windows 11, version 24H2.

To use the Windows 11 Installation Assistant, download the Windows 11 Installation Assistant and then run it. You should see some prompts telling you about Windows 11 and what it'll install. Let it download and install 24H2.

To use the Windows 11 Media Creation Tool, download the Windows 11 Media Creation Tool, and run the MCT. Once it finishes loading, push "Upgrade this PC Now". Let the MCT install the Windows 11 installation files, and then let it check for updates, and then let it install Windows 11.

To use the Windows 11 ISO, download the Windows 11 ISO, (you can find it here, scroll down to where you see ISO for Windows 11 x64 devices), mount it, and then run setup.exe (if you see a UAC prompt, push yes). Follow the prompts on-screen and then let setup.exe update and install Windows 11, 24H2.

All of these steps will get you to 24H2 and will take a while to install. It's best to do this at night when you're not doing anything important. Just make sure to save your files before you start.

However, as stated before, 23H2 won't go out of support until November of this year, so you still have plenty of time before you need to upgrade. Your PC actually might install 24H2 via Windows Update if your PC supports it.
