Both my Desktop and Laptop are suffering the same problem when attempting to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter. Operating system is Windows 11 24H2 with all updates applied to 11 December 2024 including KB5048667. After going through to the point where the troubleshooter runs, I get "I'm sorry. I was unable to run the Windows Update diagnostic. I might need to transfer you to an agent to help solve your problem." I've done all the obvious (sfc, DISM) and no problems were found. I'm thinking it must be a generic problem as it happens on both my Windows 11 machines.

I finally downloaded the latest ISO. Installed keeping apps and files. I was sceptical that it would keep everything but it did. No need to reinstall anything nor change redo settings. Working fine and no pending update now. See what happens when the next update comes.

2025-01-21T23:50:27+00:00 flysafely, no, I still have the same problem with the Troubleshooter. The latest updates KB5050009, KB5049622 and KB5050525 installed without any problems, and the defender signatures have been loading OK also. So I'm minded to just ignore it and hope it gets fixed at some point in the future, fingers crossed!!!
