Windows Update Troubleshooter failing to run, anyone else having problems?

Both my Desktop and Laptop are suffering the same problem when attempting to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter. Operating system is Windows 11 24H2 with all updates applied to 11 December 2024 including KB5048667. After going through to the point where the troubleshooter runs, I get "I'm sorry.  I was unable to run the Windows Update diagnostic. I might need to transfer you to an agent to help solve your problem." I've done all the obvious (sfc, DISM) and no problems were found. I'm thinking it must be a generic problem as it happens on both my Windows 11 machines.

    Because it's a stand alone update (automatic) those 2 don`t apply.

    I resolved the problem by using the following;

    https://catalog.sf.dl.delivery.mp.microsoft.com/filestreamingservice/files/caa3ff4a-6420-4341-aeae-33b2d7f463be/public/windows11.0-kb5027397-x64_3a9c368e239bb928c32a790cf1663338d2cad472.msu

    KB5027397 is the 23H2 enablement package, which has nothing to do with the KB5050009 24H2 update error Lee Relph was facing.

    Sorry but my problem was with the 23h2, I couldn`t do any updating and the message was:

    END OF YOUR SUPPORT OF YOUR VERSION OF WINDOWS.

    So after 2 days of reading I realised to get de 24h2 I had to get the 23h2 first in order to get the 24h2. I was stucked with the 22h2 version.

    I'm sorry if you understood me wrong.

    Now I`m waiting to see if I'll get the 24h2 version without these frustrations.

    Thanks for the info. 23H2 is supported till November 2025. You can continue using it until then.
