Both my Desktop and Laptop are suffering the same problem when attempting to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter. Operating system is Windows 11 24H2 with all updates applied to 11 December 2024 including KB5048667. After going through to the point where the troubleshooter runs, I get "I'm sorry. I was unable to run the Windows Update diagnostic. I might need to transfer you to an agent to help solve your problem." I've done all the obvious (sfc, DISM) and no problems were found. I'm thinking it must be a generic problem as it happens on both my Windows 11 machines.

That is odd. I had a similar issue too with that last update. Not sure what happened but had to do a roll back as well. Frustrating when you sit down to get some work done and you gotta spend an hour+ fixing things because an update broke. Glad you were able to get everything working!
No, I couldn't reset the update cache file. I got these 2 answers:
C:\Windows\System32>ren %systemroot%\System32\catroot2 catroot2.old
Access is denied.
C:\Windows\System32>Del "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Network\Downloader\qmgr*.dat"
Could Not Find C:\ProgramData\Application Data\Microsoft\Network\Downloader\qmgr*.dat

it keeeps showing We could not complete the install because an update service was shutting down.
My pc updated automatically, after that my pc is not working, the screen go off and come back on constantly, I have not access to the task, settings or any other thing on my laptop, I can't even see the time or nothing, my pc was working properly before the update, help please.
