Both my Desktop and Laptop are suffering the same problem when attempting to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter. Operating system is Windows 11 24H2 with all updates applied to 11 December 2024 including KB5048667. After going through to the point where the troubleshooter runs, I get "I'm sorry. I was unable to run the Windows Update diagnostic. I might need to transfer you to an agent to help solve your problem." I've done all the obvious (sfc, DISM) and no problems were found. I'm thinking it must be a generic problem as it happens on both my Windows 11 machines.

There are many things that didn't update. I am also having problems with my HP touchpad, it is all over the place. Super sensitive, squirrelly and opens everything. I have tried all of the fixes suggested and nothing works. It seems to be just off.

I've walked through the recommended troubleshooting steps, rebooted, and tried to install the update. It is stuck at 8%
flysafely, no, I still have the same problem with the Troubleshooter. The latest updates KB5050009, KB5049622 and KB5050525 installed without any problems, and the defender signatures have been loading OK also. So I'm minded to just ignore it and hope it gets fixed at some point in the future, fingers crossed!!!
Hi Antonio Ruiz5, I am not having trouble with updates, they are installing fine. It is the Windows Update Troubleshooter for Windows 11 that isn't working and that I am trying to find the fix for.
I do appreciate your talking the time to try to help me though.
stevelad, did you ever find the fix for the Windows 11 Update Troubleshooter? If so, would you share that info. I've read thru these comments and do not see that your update troubleshooter question was answered. Thank you!
