Since Windows 11 24H2 update everything runs slow and takes longer to load

Ever since this update, my system takes a long time before it's fully up to speed. I'm talking 10 minutes or more. Even the opening screen where I enter my PIN takes longer to come up. After entering the pin, it takes a while for the app icons to show on the desktop and even then the taskbar arrives later. I can't get Outlook or Chrome to launch right away. It can take minutes for them to load and be responsive.

Even after the system is functioning more normally, it is still slower than before the update. Emails take a few seconds longer to open up. Files take longer to open. Chrome tabs take longer to show.

I've checked Task Manager. My CPU is at less than 10% and my RAM at 59% with apps open. Hard disk doesn't show a lot of activity. I've looked at processes and don't see anything that's consuming a lot of resources. Nothing obvious is showing up. I've made sure to turn off a lot of apps at start up that were unnecessary.

I've also turned off sys.main. Before that, everything was even slower and more annoying than what I have already described. Two other annoying things I've discovered. Microsoft turned off Malwarebytes and turned on Defender anti-virus without my permission. It also turned on Edge. None of these things should have been activated without asking my permission. The update should keep every app the way it was either turned on or off.

24H2 has changed something in my computer that affects all activity and load times. It is not hardware related.

I have a fairly fast cpu, ram and SSD disk access speed. This is a gaming computer. It worked fast before the update. I've made a few adjustments to speed things up but those were not necessary before 24H2.

I do enjoy reading the replies...they will never just admit that their software is ****. Which is the reason for issues 90% of the time

    What a complete waste of time. Unhelpful. You’ve sat there typing an essay with ChatGPT that didn’t really help anyone. Please actually help people instead of writing unnecessary comments that nobody is going to read.

    I responded to Craig's post in which he directly addressed me, the value (or lack thereof) of my post, and said he'd like to know some things from me. I responded the best way I know how - honestly.

    And not that I need to explain myself to you, I've NEVER used ChatGPT. My words are my own. The closest thing I've ever used to it is Adobe Firefly for generating graphics. I don't need your blessing to speak my mind here.

    I as well am experiencing a general sluggishness, even after a few reboots and a whole day. Every mouse click in file explorer takes about 2 seconds. Other more active actions take even longer. Every single click! Watching task manager does not reveal any stress on the system. I've disabled Windows Defender and have no other AV installed. The sluggishness started right after the upgrade 2 days ago. There is something wrong with the 24H2 update.

    There is definitely something wrong with this update. I can't even get inside a game in helldivers 2 and even Roblox. I run a 4060 ti, have 32 gb of ram and a 13th gen I5. All of that yet still can't even run Youtube on the side of my split monitor and can barely only use 144p but still loads Hella slow. I **** restarted my pc 6 times and even did all recommended ways from Microsoft.

    Hi all,

    I had exactly the same problem.

    After updating Legion T5 S5005ARP with Windows11 24H2, my machine was ready after more than 200seconds,

    while with 23H2 it was less than 100 seconds.
    Lenovo and MS indicated that ALL drivers were up to date.

    Finally, after restoring to 23H2, boot is again ready in 100 seconds.

    QUESTION: Would it be related to MS activating Bitlocker in 24H2 as mentionned in the release notes?
    Since MS released an installation ISO for Win11 for "elder" PCS, i installed Win11 on an HP Pavilion with an Intel Core i5 as a test.
    Installation went fine, even discovered my previous Win10 activation key.
    Just after boot, i found that disks were starting to be encrypted with bitlocker, which they weren't under Win10.

    Took me some time to disable Bitlocker and find the keys 😡😡

    Then "old guy" is running fine Win11...

    Would this be the cause of SLOWINESS in Win11 24H2 as encryption is taking lot of CPU?

    Just wonder?
