I do enjoy reading the replies...they will never just admit that their software is ****. Which is the reason for issues 90% of the time
Since Windows 11 24H2 update everything runs slow and takes longer to load
Ever since this update, my system takes a long time before it's fully up to speed. I'm talking 10 minutes or more. Even the opening screen where I enter my PIN takes longer to come up. After entering the pin, it takes a while for the app icons to show on the desktop and even then the taskbar arrives later. I can't get Outlook or Chrome to launch right away. It can take minutes for them to load and be responsive.
Even after the system is functioning more normally, it is still slower than before the update. Emails take a few seconds longer to open up. Files take longer to open. Chrome tabs take longer to show.
I've checked Task Manager. My CPU is at less than 10% and my RAM at 59% with apps open. Hard disk doesn't show a lot of activity. I've looked at processes and don't see anything that's consuming a lot of resources. Nothing obvious is showing up. I've made sure to turn off a lot of apps at start up that were unnecessary.
I've also turned off sys.main. Before that, everything was even slower and more annoying than what I have already described. Two other annoying things I've discovered. Microsoft turned off Malwarebytes and turned on Defender anti-virus without my permission. It also turned on Edge. None of these things should have been activated without asking my permission. The update should keep every app the way it was either turned on or off.
24H2 has changed something in my computer that affects all activity and load times. It is not hardware related.
I have a fairly fast cpu, ram and SSD disk access speed. This is a gaming computer. It worked fast before the update. I've made a few adjustments to speed things up but those were not necessary before 24H2.

2025-01-26T05:02:15+00:00 This does not help. It was turned off. It usually is always off anyway. Not the issue at all.

2025-01-27T18:45:03+00:00 Amen to all of that Alien Tribe. My PC was very fast until updating to 24h2. Lost almost half my speed with ethernet. I have tried many, many various suggestions to correct it. None have worked. I should not have to go back to 23h2. And I will not. It was difficult to get to 24h2. I must have been one of the unlucky ones when cumulative updates failed over and over again with 23h2. I finally used a 23h2 (repair version]. Kept all my apps. It allowed me to update to 24h2. But half the speed today. Everyone has a suggestion or advice but none of them actually work. Yet!

2025-01-31T11:14:13+00:00 Hi,
I am also having the same issue since I installed 24H2. Ever since the installation, my whole PC has been extra slow. Like from sub 5 sec booting times to like 20-30 seconds booting times. Plus half of the time, Windows Hello Facial Recognition keeps failing. It keeps failing to start up but once it does, it recognises me fine. There are a number of issues with this update and the worst part is I can't roll it back because the option was locked for me from the get go. And another issue, which is completely unrelated but still an issue, is the HP ProBook firmware updates. Like I can never have a smooth firmware update, always failing to complete the second stage of a six stage update. But that is only when I receive the update through windows update, any other source it's completely fine. Plus does the pause update feature even work. The firmware update always finds it way into my PC even with my updates paused. Had to lock my bios version to prevent the frequent crashes it brings. When I see it, I get literal shivers down my spine. I don't even want a fix, I want it not to be released on the public channel. I'll do the update myself. Thank you🙂.
