Since Windows 11 24H2 update everything runs slow and takes longer to load

This is a bunch of BS. How can you do this to all our computers. We shouldn't have to spend hours trying to fix your updates.

If you are having issues with the update, simple fix which works, roll it back and turn off/pause updates.

Oh another thing you can try which worked on a couple of my machines is create another user, which spins up a whole new profile, this seems to fix the hanging after log in after the update. They must do some scanning and fixing on the profiles after log in and if you have a large profile it can take a while and hang the PC, so I got around this by creating a new user and worked like a charm. Yes you will have to reconfigure settings and such but better then trying to work with a hanging profile, uninstalling updates or reinstalling windows and having to reinstall everything.

I have done this on a few machines at work and two of my desktops.

All my other machines have updates turned off and manual because of these exact issues.

Valve has already tried creating their OS, it's called Steam OS and it was a huge flop, highly unlikely it will be anywhere close to Windows. If you want to try something else, check out Linux. Mint is a good distro and user friendly and once you install and configure Wine you can run Windows apps. Windows is not without its issues but overall, it is by far the best operating system out there , Generally. Now for specific use cases Linux may suit you great, Android may just be what you want, but Steam coming out with a better OS then Windows, I think not. Microsoft has been having some serious update issues, since as long as I can recall. While it is bothersome I feel improvement has not happened with their updates even since NT 3.5 I feel we had the same issues back then, but to think about how huge Windows is and everything it is capable of, still hands down the best general OS out there. I run all operating systems, but still find myself in Windows most the time, but prefer Linux KDE Desktop any day, but unfortunately Nvidia has not open sourced their driver's for Linux yet and Windows is still has the best OS for games and such. Plug and play works great, try doing half the stuff you do on Windows in any OS. You could spend a week getting sound sometimes and even other OS updates are breaking changes. Security is a very important thing and some updates have to happen but sometimes problems will arise. When you have as many machines running one OS this kind of stuff will happen.

I like you am also having an issue on my main laptop , since the last update it is unusable but my desktop seems okay, so for now I run Linux mint on the laptop and if I need Windows I just RDP into my desktop and my laptop acts as a terminal only. I am sure these issues will be fixed and hopefully MS will address what is going on in their QA and Insider builds, cause these major issues should not be happening like this.

While they fix it check out distrowatch dot com. I am sure there is a flavor of Linux out there that you will like, there are so many!

I follow a PC repair tech, I reached out to him. He is flooded with PCs that won't even post and have corrupted Bios and he has to restore it. Easier with an AMD board, just backup the current Bios, download the new and write it back to it. Intel boards require more work to restore.

Have same issues , new I9 32GB ram , was working very fast before, now since this update even mouse pointer lags. Tried to go back to pervious version but it was not possible. 24H2 even changed my backupWindows recovery option!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
