I do enjoy reading the replies...they will never just admit that their software is ****. Which is the reason for issues 90% of the time
Since Windows 11 24H2 update everything runs slow and takes longer to load
Ever since this update, my system takes a long time before it's fully up to speed. I'm talking 10 minutes or more. Even the opening screen where I enter my PIN takes longer to come up. After entering the pin, it takes a while for the app icons to show on the desktop and even then the taskbar arrives later. I can't get Outlook or Chrome to launch right away. It can take minutes for them to load and be responsive.
Even after the system is functioning more normally, it is still slower than before the update. Emails take a few seconds longer to open up. Files take longer to open. Chrome tabs take longer to show.
I've checked Task Manager. My CPU is at less than 10% and my RAM at 59% with apps open. Hard disk doesn't show a lot of activity. I've looked at processes and don't see anything that's consuming a lot of resources. Nothing obvious is showing up. I've made sure to turn off a lot of apps at start up that were unnecessary.
I've also turned off sys.main. Before that, everything was even slower and more annoying than what I have already described. Two other annoying things I've discovered. Microsoft turned off Malwarebytes and turned on Defender anti-virus without my permission. It also turned on Edge. None of these things should have been activated without asking my permission. The update should keep every app the way it was either turned on or off.
24H2 has changed something in my computer that affects all activity and load times. It is not hardware related.
I have a fairly fast cpu, ram and SSD disk access speed. This is a gaming computer. It worked fast before the update. I've made a few adjustments to speed things up but those were not necessary before 24H2.

2025-03-21T09:40:12+00:00 Hello Jean.MarieAuge
Interesting news relevant new updates from 3/12 but disappointing - BECAUSE they cannot be installed.
Yes, I have tried to, I obtained the KB 505 3598 from March 12 from MS Catalog file as MSU.
TO NOP AVIL, the MSU could not be installed, error msg recvd from ''stand alone'' cannot be instaled,
Ah Windows is HOPELESS, just no good - a LEM and it is impossible to work with windows anymore!
Win 7 was good, but it's OLD and no updates for it. NO POIINT.
I> have switched to APPLE MACH and finished. I just wonder, HOW in the world did you manage
to install that KB 505 359 ?????? Now the KB 5051989, no, that one is NOT from March 12, no no,
that is from 2/11 Feb 11. So I cannot exactly comprehend you communiqué, Jean- Marie.
WIN 8, ugh, that was also a bloody DISASTER! WIN 10, not bad, WIN 11 22h2 was also OK, but NOT
24h2. 23h2 was still within FAIR realm, but with 24h2 Microsoft RUINED Windows OS COMPLETELY!!!!!
Oh well, with MAC INTOSCH I am so to speak in paradise - figuratively speaking but a grand relief
and much better. AND - no more Anti-Virus required for Apple MAC, that's good. Well the entire OS Mac Intosch
is constructed very very DIFFERENTLY than Microsoft.
OK, have a great time with that new update, how you managed to install that thing, is a PUZZLE to me, madam.
Regards,
Pete

2025-03-21T06:05:06+00:00 Hi to All,
For about one week now, since "forced update" (on March 6) to 24H2 leading to still time to load my Lenovo Legion T5,
there has been a new update since March 12 to
Home Windows 11
Version 24H2
Build Version 26100.3476
It installed KB5051989 and KB5053598.
And ... Miracle, my machine is now very close to original performances in 23H2.
I hope it is the same for most people too.
