Since Windows 11 24H2 update everything runs slow and takes longer to load

Ever since this update, my system takes a long time before it's fully up to speed. I'm talking 10 minutes or more. Even the opening screen where I enter my PIN takes longer to come up. After entering the pin, it takes a while for the app icons to show on the desktop and even then the taskbar arrives later. I can't get Outlook or Chrome to launch right away. It can take minutes for them to load and be responsive.

Even after the system is functioning more normally, it is still slower than before the update. Emails take a few seconds longer to open up. Files take longer to open. Chrome tabs take longer to show.

I've checked Task Manager. My CPU is at less than 10% and my RAM at 59% with apps open. Hard disk doesn't show a lot of activity. I've looked at processes and don't see anything that's consuming a lot of resources. Nothing obvious is showing up. I've made sure to turn off a lot of apps at start up that were unnecessary.

I've also turned off sys.main. Before that, everything was even slower and more annoying than what I have already described. Two other annoying things I've discovered. Microsoft turned off Malwarebytes and turned on Defender anti-virus without my permission. It also turned on Edge. None of these things should have been activated without asking my permission. The update should keep every app the way it was either turned on or off.

24H2 has changed something in my computer that affects all activity and load times. It is not hardware related.

I have a fairly fast cpu, ram and SSD disk access speed. This is a gaming computer. It worked fast before the update. I've made a few adjustments to speed things up but those were not necessary before 24H2.

I do enjoy reading the replies...they will never just admit that their software is ****. Which is the reason for issues 90% of the time

    Some reports indicate that these updates messed with drivers.

    Start with reinstalling your network drivers. Check for improvement.

    If none, try reinstalling graphics drivers. If still no luck try reinstalling your manufacturer's chipset drivers.

    Even third-party drivers for different apps could be affected, so if you STILL have issues consider reinstalling any of those one at a time, especially any that are AMD, Intel or ARM specific (depending on what hardware you have).

    No I haven't yet. It's at my place of business. I just now I went to my Lenovo account, I have 7 of them and it turns out this one was 10 home edition originally, all others are Pro's

    This is the only one that seems to be affected by the 24H2 update. I don't have time to mess with it much more. I might have to just go buy a new one, even a system restore is out of the question as far as having time to do anything. MS is irritating me. it's just weird with task manager open you don't see any of the resources being used much at all. Everything you do has bad lag.

    As you are running Windows 11 pro, did you verify that MS didn't turn Bitlocker on? Run manage-bde -status in a powershell

    I too have the problem with a PC running slow after the 2 24H2 updates that where 2 days apart. The PC was fine until then. It also started to ask for a network password when I tried to run my main application over the network. In task manager the PC is not busy or low on recourses. Everything you do is slow.

    Lenovo Vantage didn't find any driver updates and also run their utility to clean the PC. Almost not usable at this point. Out of all the options you list what would be the best course of action, or all of them. I saw a video about bitlocker and turning it off. This PC is a slave on a network, Intel I5 Win 10 Pro updated to 11 Pro. I need the PC up and running and can't have it down.
