Since Windows 11 24H2 update everything runs slow and takes longer to load

Ever since this update, my system takes a long time before it's fully up to speed. I'm talking 10 minutes or more. Even the opening screen where I enter my PIN takes longer to come up. After entering the pin, it takes a while for the app icons to show on the desktop and even then the taskbar arrives later. I can't get Outlook or Chrome to launch right away. It can take minutes for them to load and be responsive.

Even after the system is functioning more normally, it is still slower than before the update. Emails take a few seconds longer to open up. Files take longer to open. Chrome tabs take longer to show.

I've checked Task Manager. My CPU is at less than 10% and my RAM at 59% with apps open. Hard disk doesn't show a lot of activity. I've looked at processes and don't see anything that's consuming a lot of resources. Nothing obvious is showing up. I've made sure to turn off a lot of apps at start up that were unnecessary.

I've also turned off sys.main. Before that, everything was even slower and more annoying than what I have already described. Two other annoying things I've discovered. Microsoft turned off Malwarebytes and turned on Defender anti-virus without my permission. It also turned on Edge. None of these things should have been activated without asking my permission. The update should keep every app the way it was either turned on or off.

24H2 has changed something in my computer that affects all activity and load times. It is not hardware related.

I have a fairly fast cpu, ram and SSD disk access speed. This is a gaming computer. It worked fast before the update. I've made a few adjustments to speed things up but those were not necessary before 24H2.

I do enjoy reading the replies...they will never just admit that their software is ****. Which is the reason for issues 90% of the time

    You could try running the Windows Troubleshooter for performance issues and also check for any pending updates that might fix these problems. Additionally, ensure that your drivers and BIOS are up-to-date, as these can sometimes cause slowdowns after major updates.

    in my past 2 computers after a Microsoft update, my os windows have started to act off first here then there and so forth.. on both of them. I now know it is intentional, and it makes me feel good to know I´m not the only one, but there´s an army of us being targeted by the ¨system¨. and is good to know that there are good people among us with solutions. Thanks to all of you. Who are giving us solutions, God bless you and me on Judgement Day. Meanwhile, let´s keep solving the intentional Microsoft harassment in the form of, an update and keys typing different characters, or clicking a search box just to see the blinker blink 3 times and freeze, so when you type something to search it doesn´t even show up.. the list is long, including the last insult. I stopped their updates in the hopes to stop´m from updating garbage to my computer, just to find out they too, override my ¨Pause updates¨ and updated it this xmas without my permission. Making it intentionally slower, like press an icon and wait several seconds to execute, exit that app to open another but unable to open it because the previous one, although closed, has the transparent white halo telling you i´m kindda still closing and therefore not able to open the next window or app. etc.. Hope you already fix it. Got to fix mine. I know the Republicans-Freemasons_Military call it the ¨F***y F***y game¨.

    Ivan, try to make an in-place upgrade. Download the previous version media and make the upgrade preserving the files and apps. I did it and my laptop is working fine again. Finally disable automatic updates. Regards.

    I spent 2 days trying to fix this in the end I had to get a download link for Windows 11:23 H2 as wouldn't allow me to roll back had to wipe clean and start a fresh
