Since Windows 11 24H2 update everything runs slow and takes longer to load

Ever since this update, my system takes a long time before it's fully up to speed. I'm talking 10 minutes or more. Even the opening screen where I enter my PIN takes longer to come up. After entering the pin, it takes a while for the app icons to show on the desktop and even then the taskbar arrives later. I can't get Outlook or Chrome to launch right away. It can take minutes for them to load and be responsive.

Even after the system is functioning more normally, it is still slower than before the update. Emails take a few seconds longer to open up. Files take longer to open. Chrome tabs take longer to show.

I've checked Task Manager. My CPU is at less than 10% and my RAM at 59% with apps open. Hard disk doesn't show a lot of activity. I've looked at processes and don't see anything that's consuming a lot of resources. Nothing obvious is showing up. I've made sure to turn off a lot of apps at start up that were unnecessary.

I've also turned off sys.main. Before that, everything was even slower and more annoying than what I have already described. Two other annoying things I've discovered. Microsoft turned off Malwarebytes and turned on Defender anti-virus without my permission. It also turned on Edge. None of these things should have been activated without asking my permission. The update should keep every app the way it was either turned on or off.

24H2 has changed something in my computer that affects all activity and load times. It is not hardware related.

I have a fairly fast cpu, ram and SSD disk access speed. This is a gaming computer. It worked fast before the update. I've made a few adjustments to speed things up but those were not necessary before 24H2.

I do enjoy reading the replies...they will never just admit that their software is ****. Which is the reason for issues 90% of the time

    Atm it's the one on the screenie. Already did some updates though. I downloaded it about three days ago from MS so it's a very recent one.
    Yes i did a clean install, but 1 month ago i also did that and had a lot of troubles so i don't think the update process caused anything of this. Was guessing that in the first place.
    I did a small change by activating my xmp profile as deepseek recommended.
    But when the installer hangs occured my system was nearly idle (about 5% of disk and cpu usage, ram was filled to 12%, 4 gigs of 32) according to task manager so i don't think that this changed it, all Versions before worked like a charm without xmp.Image

    So i was reading about disabling defender but this is one of the first things i always do on a new install. That didn't solve anything for me.
    I was using linux mint for at least a month now but still had this issue in the back of my mind.
    So i tested the newest iso of W11 24H2 in qemu and as none of the problems i had before occured again, i dared to put it on bare metal again.
    And it works again. Still would like to know what caused the issues because nothing changed on my hard- or software config.

    It's obviously not all good, yet. MSI files which use the windows installer are still making trouble. Also some vc redists take very long to install. But they work. Hopefully with some next updates this will work out better, too.
    Still feeling like a beta tester from time to time.

    Just curious of the version you're using?

    On my Lenovo my Lenovo Legion T5 where MS forced installation of upgrade 24H2, i am running

    Home Windows 11

    Version 24H2

    Build Version 26100.3194

    I just wondered what is the version you downloaded as the iso.

    Did you reinstall everything from scratch then?
