24H2 crashing games - working on a fix?

I have the same problem in Diablo Immortal I can't play because there are these complete freezes and I have to restart the laptop.

my monitor doesn't have HDR and I don't have the option to disable it, where in the system registers can I permanently disable HDR?

I have been playing Path of Exile 2 (PoE2), and when my Windows 11 was on version 23H2, I had no issues at all. However, after upgrading to 24H2, that's when the "fun" began (sarcasm).

This update made any game other than World of Warcraft unplayable, and even that game has issues with 24H2.

Microsoft should be ashamed for sending out the update without proper testing, especially since many Windows users play games in some fashion (Xbox Live, Steam, etc.). Releasing this update during the holidays makes it even more frustrating. Imagine being off work during a company shutdown for the holidays, only to find that you can't play games because the 24H2 code is sloppy.

I was able to find a decent work around that has been working for me with PoE 2 (see below). Oddly enough this came from AI. And so far it has worked. Note: I did not limit the CPU usage. I performed all the steps except #3.

I forgot to perform step #2 yesterday and the issue came back. One I applied #2 It was ok for several hours till bed time.

I wish you all luck and a happy new year! Microsoft should test 25H1 from here to Mars and back and make sure it works perfectly before rolling it out.

Same problem here, with PO2 or Apex legends or even call of duty. It is pretty random sometime and sometime it is non stop. I have try everything I can to fix this issue (I have win 10% of perforamance by searching a solution) to say how far I have search.

I wasn't able to say which part of my computer was the problem. But everytime I had freeze or crash with hard reboot (Soo many hard reboot in 2 week I don't like that at all) I was thinking and listening, windows isn't responding anymore, what the hell what happening. Now I see this post I m a bit relieve that there is some explaination.

Please do a quick fix.

Having to hard reset my pc is painful, recovery options aren't available to rollback to 23h2.
