24H2 crashing games - working on a fix?

It seems to be a known issue but seeing as there are no fixes yet, maybe you need more people to bring up the problem.

Ever since the 24H2 update, games have been freezing up the entire computer, forcing a hard-reboot with no other solutions.

And yes, I've tried re-installing/updating graphics driver, and pretty much every solution offered so far with no avail (some mention turning off Auto-HDR, some mention disabling multi-threading options in-game, etc.).

The only solution on specific game, POE2, that has worked is playing it on DirectX11 instead of DirectX12.

Apparently the issue is easily resolved by rolling back to 23H2, but instead of the users having to resort to finding a way to downgrade their updates, is there a fix coming from Windows any time soon?

    Installed windows 10 pro today, no crashes in steam or when loading battles.

    Are you kidding me? After telling it to NOT update to 24H2, I even disabled updates to not accidentally update to this broken update, and today I woke to to the computer having installed it anyway. I gave it a chance and hoped they had fixed the problems but no, my computer still crashes when trying to play games. This time for some reason I can't roll-back to 23H2. I've had it with the ignorance of Microsoft not treating this more urgently and forcing a broken update on us. Considering going back to Windows 10 just so I can play my games.

    It is concerning they have not addressed the issue yet; to me, the silence makes it look like they have come to the realisation they broke everything and 'fixing' it will be a long process for a distant future and are too stubborn to recall 24H2. The timing couldn't have been worse to push out a game-breaking update for Christmas, and then send their engineers off on holidays.

    Still dealing with these issues no fix has been released yet and MICROSOFT keeps reminding us that we NEED to update to win11. This wouldnt be so bad if it was an actual stable good OS.

    Our "wonderful" government steps in all the time when corporations overstep ie monopolies and buy outs. Yet they are allowing Microsoft to tell the whole world you must upgrade to garbage.

    Why are Win11 installs dropping and Win10 increasing again, cause of these garbage updates that no one wants or needs. I "LOVE" having to go thru and disable nonsense after every update that i don't get a choice of enabling or not.

    OK rant over, MICROSOFT FIX YOUR SELF and AI is not the answer.

    I recently read that 25H1 should be out mid January. Hopefully that fixes the crashing and other issues 24H2 is having.
